The new channel-free water-in-oil droplet 3D culture method can effectively protect against contamination and evaporation while offering simplified operation compared to conventional 3D culture methods. This droplet-based 3D culture approach uses droplet size controllability to fundamentally solve various challenges, especially spheroid size constraints inherent in conventional 3D culture methods and has the potential to be utilized for organoid formation.
